(no subject)

So, Dichen Lachman?  Looks like this:



Zoe Saldana?  Looks like this:



Now, I realize that "washed out" is a current trend in icons (not one I'm fond of in most cases, but that's not the point), but I really shouldn't keep coming across icons of them* that make me think "are they trying to make her look white?"  In particular, I shouldn't click on an icon post to find that the iconmaker has made it look like Dichen Lachman has lighter skin than Eliza Dushku.

*I'm sure this is far from limited to these two actresses (I seem to remember similar complaints regarding icons of Freema Agyeman(sp?) a while back, but Zoe Saldana is one of the current "it" girls, and while my sanity and self-respect will not let me watch Dollhouse anymore even for Dichen Lachman, Olivia Williams and Sierra/Victor, I can survive most icons, so I see a lot of icons for both.


ETA:  OMG US release of the Blade of the Immortal Artbook in June!  I mean, it's Dark Horse, so that probably actually means, like, October, but still!

ETA 2:  Ok, I admit.  From personal experience, I know that most publicity stills of Dichen Lachman seem to use incredibly bright lights that already make her look somewhat washed out, but the answer is not to almost make it look like she has no skin tone at all!

Hmph.

Sat down to do my taxes, got everything done, and found out that I can't file them because some federal documents haven't been released yet.
