manga: Kingyo Used Books Vol 1
Aug. 5th, 2010 09:35 pmThis is a manga about a used manga shop where manga changes lives. I love you, Japan.
But yeah, that’s basically it. The shop is run by Natsuki, the owner’s granddaughter, and her main employee is Shiba, an otaku who knows everything about almost every manga ever, and is in love with Natsuki. But is more in love with manga. The supporting cast (so far) is made up of regular customers, as well as Natsuki’s grandfather, and her American cousin, Billy, who is joining grandpa on the manga expedition. Like most manga about shops, though, the main focus is on the customers.
It’s fluff, but it’s adorable, geeky fluff with footnotes on tons of manga that I will never get to read because it’s probably never been scanslated, and likely has no chances of ever being licensed. This might make me sad.
