CHARLIE'S ANGELS OF SHIBUYA!

Anyway, Super Gals! returns with ~~superheroine~~ head Gal of Shibuya, Ran Kotobuki, and her friends, Miyu and Aya, on their quest outshop everyone and everything in existance, and maybe uphold justice and thwart evildoers along the way. But Ran won't be upholding the family tradition of being a police officer. Nuh uh. No way. Miyu is still giddily in love with Ran's brother, Yamato, Aya is still shyly in love with Rei, Yuuya is still hopelessly in love with Ran, and Ran and Katsukichi(aka-Monkey Boy) are...their own special brand of girlfriend and boyfriend. Which pretty much translates as Katsukichi is shamelessly and adoringly in love with Ran, and Ran rightly takes this as her due. And of course the Super Junior Detectives remain obsessed with police dramas and justice.

SPOILERY EXCLAMATIONS!

MONKEY BOY JUNIOR! (little brother) WHO IS OBSESSED WITH GETTING HIS BROTHER TO TAKE OVER THE FAMILY BUSINESS!!!

AND FALLS FOR RAN! THEN MIYU! THEN LITTLE SISTER! (He falls in and out of love easily...I'm wondering if he'll be moving on to Mami and Aya...) AND BECOMES THE THIRD MEMBER OF THE SUPER JUNIOR KIDDIE DETECTIVES!

MAMI/YUUYA! I swear, that has to be the most random pairing ever, but it somehow works. I do love Mami. And all the Gals. And Yuuya remains amazingly darling, of course.

FORMER SUPER GAL!!! Man, I love how everything that's about Gals has this former Super Gal who was this great legend who randomly disappeared, and then she returns with a rather average job and no one recognizes her. I love Towa, too. Actually, I just adore those older sister/aunt/mother/whatever characters who seem so sweet and passive but has monsters lurking underneath that could kill you with their pinkies.

RAN! Everything about Ran remains supremely awesome.

Ran with COMPETITION! Who used Miyu and Aya to try to blackmail Ran and tried to frame little sister for shoplifting. Honestly, I'm surprised she lived through the episode. Of course, the "next episode" previews tell me she'll try to steal Monkey Boy from Ran. Not that it'll work, as he's absurdly devoted, but she might finally push Ran over the edge, there.

Sadly, Aya and Rei have had very little to do, save for Aya following Ran around and Rei commenting of Yuuya's stupidity. Though I did enjoy that brief shot of Rei staring through Towa's window at Aya with a "My girlfriend, you took her. Give her back." look.

Also, Ran has a Secret. That only Towa knows. I long to learn it.
