Bionic Woman

So, I seem to have finished the recernt Bionic Woman reboot with Michelle Ryan without realizing it.  Probably because, even though I knew it got cancelled pretty quickly, Netflix told be it was "Volume 1," and when there's a "Volume 1," you kind of expect a second volume.

Naturally, it got cancelled just as I was getting into it beyond "Oh, a genre show with a female action lead!  Who isn't objectified (much)!  And talks to other women!  Who actually have multiple scenes!  And don't die!"  Actully, i take that back.  I was fairly into the Jamie/Sara Corvus plot early on despite the general awkwardness of the early episodes, but then Starbuck up and disappeared.

Randomly:

-Lucy Hale (Aria in Pretty Little Liars) is really itty here.  Like, twice as itty as in PLL.  Part o it is that she's still young enough that a year or two makes a big difference in her looks, but it's also the hair.  PLL gives the characters' hair so much body that even Flat Hair Curse still leaves it more bouyant than the most overstyled hair in other shows.  I love it.  Leave me alone.

-Is Will Yun Lee making a career out of playing backup to brunette white women with superpowers or something?  At least he wasn't a ghost here.  I think i'll go fantasize about a show with him and Dichen Lachman as superspies.

Anyway, anyone seen the original version with Lindsay Wagner?

(Also, I apparently told Netflix to send me Sanctuary after this.  At least I won't depress myself by accidentally watching a genre show about superawesome straight white guys and their epic manly bonds where women and POC show up for 5 seconds an episode.  White Collar is the closest to that that I can get.  it's actually kind of sad that it's recurring women probably get more screentime than the regular women do in some other shows.)
