Remember my not quite being comfortable with the brutal training scenes inthe last volume?  I did an about face here when we went from Yaki being a scared little scrapper to her being the captain of the assassins in the butcher camp. Shock of shocks(not) we learn that Yantilla is Aragorn's son.  I detect excellent things when he and Yaki meet again.

I'm not sure what I think of Nejo.  I like that the big guy who should be able to break you isn't very good at fighting and is a bit of a wuss, and completely dependent on the girl half his size, but...ok, honestly, can'twe have a bit of independence or a spine without the extreme trauma(for him) of losing Yaki?  Then again, the whole "going ballistic and killing the other assassins" thing has potential.  I suspect that won't go over well.

I was a bit surprised to see Horakan again already.  Uhm...you know, I like him a lot, but shouldn't at least Yaki or Batu one express a little annoyance about the part where HE ABANDONED THEM MIDBATTLE???  But then they went back to the "getting married when we grow up" coding with him and Yaki.  But then, the mangaka also did that with Yantilla and Nejo.

As much as I understand why Batu wanted Yaki to be trained and trained hard in a place where she couldn't be found, I can't help but think Yaki should have beat on him a little more.  He may have actually felt it eventually.

And now Yaki will go on a solo(?) mission.  YAY!!

I want to know what Genji's been up to, though.
