I wasn't sure WHAT they were trying to say with Amelia. Like, some parts made me think she was only the surrogate, but then others made me think they were biologically hers? I don't know. (Maybe they don't know? I'm not convinced the writers have it all worked out yet. Like, they also had Amelia contradict what had been described previously, as Sarah was apparently never actually officially a ward of the state-i'm sure Siobahn fudged some on the background, but i suspect her explanation on how she got Sarah was fairly accurate, in terms of her acquiring Sarah outside official channels-but Amelia says that's where she hid sarah.)
I agree about trying to characterize Katja via how she looked and sounded, but yeah, it was probably because she was around for about 2 minutes before dying, and no one knew her well enough for us to get to know her though the other characters like we do Beth.
The Siobahn/Sarah relationship is actually my strongest investment when it comes to Sarah herself. I also hope she went rogue early on.
