I thinkthe reliance on his friends is a largely part of his appeal...he needs them, as opposed to their just beng accessories. And I loved how in that episode, they got what he was trying to do, and why, but they saw what was really happening, and wanted nothing to do with it.
With this Gisbourne, there's the feeling that he's only bad because he's a bad guy's underling. If he'd ended up with a fair and honorable guy, he'd be following in his footsteps, and likely a much stronger guy.
I have heard good things about the BBC Gisbourne...wish the set was going to be cheaper...how's their Will, BTW?
