That sounds like a... pretty convoluted backstory... On the other hand, it also looks 1000% relevant to my interests so definitely looking out for this!
(Weirdly, I managed to find and watch a streaming version of The Duellists ages ago, but have not been able to find it again since. I wish I could though, I remember enjoying it but not much else about the movie)
