*have fetched Qwan from the car and will use it and Neopets to reactivate my brain so I can post on Ayakashi

*Does Avatar really have flying bison and people who shoot fireballs from their feet?  If so, why was I not told of this before?  For that matter, why did I not know it had pirates until very recently?

*people need to post things to entertain me as I am too tired to properly entertain them

It has six-legged flying bison. And turtleducks. And crazy mixed animals that are charming and cool. And yes, people who shoot fireballs from their feet. There's also a blind girl who can manipulate metal and IS THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER.

Avatar is just so full of awesome that it is so hard to cover everything. Also, I've been watching it since it first premiered so I unfortunately take all these things for granted.

Like I said, I take it all for granted! I'm not so enthralled by the setting anymore (but it is awesome) but by the character arc! But there are things like:

1. A retired general who was awesome and cool but lost his greatest and most important battle ever because his only son died and it broke his heart. And now he just loves his tea and tries to teach the emotastic Prince Zuko to be good. But the retired general is not stupid and senile like everyone thinks he is. You watch wuxia. You know the harmless old man is NEVER HARMLESS.

2. The fact that the previous Avatar and the emotastic Prince Zuko's grandfather were BEST FRIENDS BUT IT ENDED IN WOE.

3. There is also a duel between two guys in S2. With bladed weapons. With twin bladed weapons.

4. Prince Zuko's sister. His crazy, dominatrix of a sister!

5. And her two best friends. Together, I call the three of them the Charlie's Angels of the Fire Nation. I... I won't apologize.

One is a happy go lucky acrobat who just hangs around because she likes to be special and have fun!

The other is the perfect daughter of a noble family. So perfect that she's bored and started playing with knives.

She's also had a massive crush on the emotastic Prince Zuko since they were kids. I expect this will come to a head later in S3 because the way things are, she now has to choose between the emo prince and his crazy sister.

Together the three of them go on missions, undercover or otherwise, for the glory of the Fire Nation, capturing cities and stuff for the Fire Lord.

You forgot to add "lightning-shooting martial arts prodigy", "megalomaniac", and "incestuously seductive" to #4! And don't forget her elderly identical-twin sifus, and treating beach volleyball as mere practice for WORLD DOMINATION! Or the way she conquers an enemy stronghold by subterfuge with only her two teenage buddies for backup, and then makes their elite secret police her personal man-harem!

(Well, OK, maybe the man-harem bit is just subtext...)

And then there's the army of teenage girls who do tessenjutsu in kabuki makeup! And when a boy asks to study with them, they make him crossdress!

And then there's the episode with the senryu slam! And the professional-wrestling parody! And the gorgeous female bounty hunter who out-drinks, out-gambles, and out-arm-wrestles the men! And the supernatural library!

Also, the turtleducks have been mentioned but bear repeating, because turtleducks are love. Much like all the rest of Avatar, really.
