I always parsed Yukimura as being bisexual (though, yeah, I get squicked by Yukimura/Sasuke for the same "Ew! Sasuke's a kid, stop it!" reason) and I can sort of see Hotaru too, though, like you, I kind of doubt whether or not he even knows what sex is.
