Last Exile is one of my favorite animes, and one of my favorite OSTs (not done by Yuki Kajiura).
I've only seen it once, although we now have it on DVD to rewatch, and I'm sure if I watch it again, I'll find holes. But until I do, I felt it was one of the best plotted and paced series I've watched, similar to how I felt with Escaflowne--yes, there are some slight diversions, but no real "filler episodes" per se.
