She is financially dependent at first in Goong, but shortly after the marriage, not really, as her mom ends up making a ton of $$$ and thus if they saved anything at all, her family is set for life even if marriage falls apart (and let's face it, even if it did, to save face royal family would have to give her some sort of divorce allowance). But I do think all the 'younng uns' in that one are sort of powerless vis-a-vis grownups.
I have actually more often noticed that it's the secondary guy who employs the heroine. Hmmm.
