Bleach ch -97, xxxHolic ch 158

 Bleach -97:  "And the Aizen pwned Urahara and they were all about to die, and then Yoruichi kicked a lot of butt off screen and saved everyone's butt."  I approve of this.  But I don't approve of ending the flashback with no sign of Isshin.  *sigh*  But then, I was starting to worry the flashback arc would never end.  But now there will be no more widdle versions of the Shinigami...  *torn*  (Also, why do I have no Yoruichi icons?)

xxxHolic 158:  Aww, cooking lessons.  And I am amused that Yuuko is the only one to notice the, ah, "issue" with the idea of Kohane staying in Doumeki's house.  Doumeki:  "Big house, that's fine."  Kohane:  "Whee! Bleach: I fully expect that there'll be another flashback arc at some point, so you may well get your mini-shinigami yet. I would have preferred to see Yoruichi kick butt *on-panel*, but that's a minor quibble.

xxxHolic: I was happy to see the fortune-teller lady show up again. And, knowing Yuko, I suspect that her real reasons for wanting Kohane at the fortune-teller's are less about propriety (this *is* Yuko, after all) and more about what's really good for everybody involved. Like, at Domeki's place, Kohane would really just be a charity case, but with the fortune-teller, she can be a productive member of the household, an inheritor of the old woman's wisdom, and feel like she's making a positive difference in somebody's life.

Yeah, I was reading along and was all "yes, Yoruichi will cone and save them now" and then she did and I was "what? She did all the "save everyone's butts" stuff off-panel? Humph!" and then I remembered that she HAS gotten to kick butt on-panel, and that if she had done all that on-pAanel, it would have added about 10 chapters, and I was less grumpy. And there is a certain element to Urahara sitting there all "we're screwed we're screwed we're screwed" and Yoruichi just popping up and saying everything's ok and she even packed for him.

But yeah, there's definitely a need for another flashback. We need to see Isshin come to Earth, Urahara(hopefully with Yoruichi there) working with the Vaizards, and the Vaizards getting functional.

Oh, Yuuko definitely has a lot more than propriety going on in her head, it's just the way she put it that was all "crazy aunt isn't THAT crazy." I'm not sure Kohane would be a complete charity case at Doumeki's, though. That life is her calling, somewhat, and I figure he gets lonely there.

Re: Bleach - exactly! I feel a little greedy, because the Yoruichi rescue was SO excellent, and she's calm and in-charge, as usual, but still, hmph, I'm grumpy about no Isshin.

I, too, lack Yoruichi icons probably because all of them include Soi Fon and I do not approve of Yoruichi paired with anyone but Urahara. :(

I feel the best part about the Yoruichi rescue was the "oh, and by the way, as soon as we're out of here, I'm kicking your butt. Oh, and I packed for you."

What I really want is a good Yoruichi with the butterflies.
