George R.R. Martin's A Dance With Dragons will be out 9/30.

ETA:  Amazon, why did you remove the original listing I was watching and replace it?  IT CREATD UNFAIR EXPECTATIONS!

Possibly more importantly, the third Eragon book will be out 9/20.

Please, I beg of you DO NOT LET ME READ IT!!!  Have I not "taken one for the team" enough with the first 2?  Was not my suffering enough to make me appreciate almost every other fantasy ever written?  In no universe will a supporting character the author doesn't even realize is the only remotely likable charcter in the whole thing be worth the trauma!

YOU HAVEN'T READ TWILIGHT SO I AM NOT SURE YOUR CLAIMS THAT THIS SERIES ARE WORST ARE VALID.

I have not read any of the Eragon books, but the movie was quite possibly the most pathetically derivative tripe I've ever seen. The books — were they merely bad or were they Twilight bad?

... You read Eragon. Not only did you read Eragon, but you read its sequel too. HOW DID YOU SURVIVE?!!?!?!? (Are you secretly a masochist? I do not judge, I merely ask.)

Being a Twilight and Eragon survivor, (Only read the first books. No one could make me read its sequels even if they paid me in GOLD) and looking at the previous comments, I can vouch that, for the first books anyhow, Eragon managaes to be worse than Twilight, believe it or not. *ded*

Don't do it! You will only feel dirty the next morning!

You know, there really needs to be an LJ community for supporting those of us who are trying to shuffle off our addictions to things we hate.

Gaah... my 15-year-old wanted me to sit down and watch the Eragon movie with him tonight. (He got the DVD as a gift. Not from me.) Ten minutes in, and I had already wandered off to the spare bedroom to fold laundry. I love my children, but there's a limit to every mother's tolerance.

Don't read more Eragon!

Even my 16-yr-old says it is crap! (She only made it through the first volume.)

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but I think September is pretty well gone with the wind. He needed to finish the book in June to make that pub date, apparently, and he didn't, so...yeah, more delays. *sigh*

I read the first book and decided to skip the second and third. Looks like I was right to do so.

The 9/30 date is wishful thinking on Amazon and BN parts. George says he will post to his LJ and website when the book is finished and it is not done yet. NO way it can be editted and published by then.

This (http://melengro.livejournal.com/173630.html) sums up my thoughts on Paolini nicely.
