As the season wore on, I almost started to like Robin. Then he told Marian to stay home and work on her embroidery.

In a lot of ways, a Robin Hood adaptation is kind of wasted on a person if they don’t like Robin or Robin/Marian, but ah well.

I admit, though, that I did get caught up in the moment when Marian ran out of the church and Robin asked if she took him and his horse as her escape route. Though I disapprove of Marian up and disappearing throughout the big season ender fight. Also, a few dozen people saw her run off from her wedding with Gisbourne and ride off with Robin on his horse. Then she and Robin made out in front of the sheriff’s guards. What are she and her father doing hanging around at the sheriff’s at the end?

I have decided that, when it comes to Gisbourne, love really does make you stupid, because the slightly altered Night Watchman outfit makes the girly parts quite obvious. In a medieval-lite Emma Peel kind of way. Speaking of love, I was a bit surprised when the whole Will/Djaq/Alan thing wasn’t mentioned again after both admitted they liked her.

I’m not sure what I think about the whole “Gisbourne snuck off to the Holy Land to try to kill the king and almost killed Robin” part. It mostly seems there just to make Gisbourne and the sheriff more evil and give Robin more angst. I did like when Robin was being irrational about it, but that sadly eventually turned into his normal smug attitude.

I do really like Djaq, and hope that somewhere in season 2, she confronts Robin about how she seems to think he treats her differently because she’s a woman. It’ll probably come up when the gunpowder ledger is revisited.

Does he really? This saddens me. Because I actually kind of like him so far. He's kind of a moron, and kind of a jerk, but for some reason, he still manages to charm me. Something about the way the actor plays the part, maybe. Though I do sort of find myself caring more about the secondary characters than the main ones (not that I necessarily dislike the main ones).

Yes. Yes, he literally says that.

Robin...I agree that the actor is charming. But I've never been able to like the character.

I like Robin and Robin/Marian — just not this Robin and Robin/Marian. It's too bad, really, because one really shouldn't be rooting for the bad guys in a Robin Hood story.

Yeah, I mean Robin and Robin/Marian are one of the main incentives to watch a Robin Hood adaptation. You aren't supposed to be going "Robin, you are a loser and Marian will be better off at the convent now and oh yeah she makes a better Robin Hood than you do."
