So, am I the only person who never thought Tokito was a guy? I thought she was female when she first showed up, and was confused when I found out we were supposed to think she was a guy.
I’m loving all the gender confusion with Akari. Someone really needs to sit Yuan down and explain things to him, as just saying “that’s not a chick” doesn’t seem to get things through. But I’m even more amused by Shinrei’s reaction to her suggestion that he has perverted intentions. Do we think he even knows that she’s really a man? I’m always amused by how stiff and conservative he is, since his introduction included shoving his tongue down Yuya’s throat to give her a death curse.
And I adored Sasuke-poor, poor Sasuke-having to hold up Shihodo’s panties and saying what she coached him to say. Especially when combined with Akari’s face.
Also, Julian should not be taunting Kyo about girls and swords. He’s currently very sensitive about that subject. And I wonder if Kyoshiro knew his body was diseased when he let Kyo run the body and then took Kyo’s body.
The main focus here, of course, is Akira. I’m still trying to deal with my gut instinct reaction to the power limit bit, even though we do learn here that he can improve, but that it damages his body. The problem is that I keep making a connection I’m sure Kamijyo never wanted me to, which is that it’s canon that someone with the “right blood” can walk in and get a power without working for it. And grown Akira with eyes is weird! Also, he can’t stay that way, purely because blind fighters are one of my favorite things.
I wish, though, that there’d been more time for beast!Bon and Benitora fighting Tokito’s soldiers, though I loved Yuan’s siblings just invading the angst and gloom with their energy, and Shihodo taming beast Bon.
And I love that Sakuya is a total clutz whose food looks horrible. Now to find a way for her, Yuya, Okuni and Mahiro to bond. Akari can come too.
