I don’t know that I have a lot to add to my earlier posts, but some bits:
1. The best testament to my opinion of the show is that I don’t mind that the All American Hero apparently has a grand destiny to save the universe or something. Though, like with Jack O’Neill in Stargate: SG-1, I think part of it is that he isn’t a young guy railing against fate but a slightly older guy kinda grumpy with the aliens and how they’re interfering with his life, and don’t they know h has better things to do?
2. Related to that, I like how a good portion of the characters aren’t young, but are actually a bit older and kinda tired. It also helps to make things like Sinclair and Garibaldi’s protectiveness towards Ivanova seem less like “protect the girl” and more like “we are forty *ahem* and have graying hair and receding hairlines and everyone hates us so it’s ok if we piss people off, but she’s young and hasn’t pissed many people off yet, so let’s make sure she doesn’t act like us and risk her career.”
3. I kinda want to ship Ivanova/Winters, but given what’s been revealed about PsiCorps, I sense a Grand Betrayal on the horizon regarding Winters. I especially liked the episode where they were fighting over the telepathic girl.
4. Lennier is kind of ridiculously adorable. I’m particularly fond of his rebuilding Garibaldi’s motorcycle (A symbol of masculinity? No! Really?) and Londo’s attempt to corrupt him.
5. Very curious to see what's going on with Delenn! Especially given that, as I understand it, her character was originally intended to be a male transitioning to a female, and for that to be normal for her species.
Also, I keep getting surprised by people in the opening credits not appearing for episodes on end. I’m not used to that! I think the 3rd season of Farscape is the only other time I've encountered that, and it wasn't nearly to this degree.
Spoil me for future series suffer the consequences. I don't know what the consequences will be, but they will be suffered!
