It definitely isn't for everyone (really, the characters are for me, but the show itself isn't, if you know what I mean) but it openly acknowledges it's squicky bits and doesn't remotely try to sugarcoat them, and after afew episodes, it gets very easy to get into what it's doing with the characters.
