Tough I don't think a lot of those are exclusive to yaoi, or even slash. I'm especially fond of the ones that people typically try to claim are feminist or "for" female characters.

Get excited at an active heroine in a central role put out by Hollywood? Try noticing how few of them aren't white. Concerned about sexual harassment or annoyed about crude, sexist jokes made "in fun"? Try being a Hispanic girl in high school or college in Southwest Texas  and have most people assume you're "easy" or promiscuous the second you wear a bit of makeup and wear moderately flattering clothes.

After See Trek Love, the "I ship yaoi to support the gay rights movement" is making me facepalm all over the place.

Sigh. Yes. It's painful, really, and actually made me glad that I hadn't seen the movie (or much of any Star Trek) so that the horrified boggling could have at least a bit of detachment.
