Can anyone tell me when WisCon and A-Kon are this year? I have no idea if I'll go to both/either (I wanted to last year, but they were a week apart, and that wasn't doable) but figure I should find out soonish.
You also require either a plane ride or 15 to 20 hour drive. (Which would, like, result in my knocking on someone's door so i could walk to their couch and pass out.)
Which is why I didn't go last year, because it and A-Kon were a week apart, and A-Kon was here in Texas...
My offer for you to stay at my place does still stand!
Although we should be clear on the fact that I don't actually own a couch.
I do have a spacious floor, and were_duck has offered the use of an air mattress to make the floor less floor-like.
I should also disclose that my apartment is an efficiency, so we'd be in the same room, if that bothers you (there'd be a chair and small bookshelf between us).
On the plus side, my place is the closest offer you'll get to the hotel without staying in the actual hotel, you can keep things in my fridge, I have air-conditioning, etc. Link with map!
If you're interested, we can discuss further in LJ comments. If not, I understand that travel costs a lot.
Sorry, I meant LJ messages/PMs, or whatever the cool kids call them.
I know that people also often split rooms in the Concourse, and there's deal for cheaper rooms if you/your roommates stay on the party floor. Here's a link to the deal, with more general-hotel information being here.
Right now, I think it mostly depends on my tax return. (Travelwise, I'll probably end up going the most expensive route of flying out from here so I can leave my car at the parents' house, or, if I get my car windows fixed between now and then-the motors broke, and they're taped shut-I may try the drive, though that'd result in my getting there really late.)
