So, today in Martin Luther King Jr. day.  Hollywood celebrated by giving a bunch of awards to a movie about how white people feel really really guilty about invading America and will make up for it with a narrative all about a white guy saving blue cat people and becoming a better person by pretending to be one.

Though, personally, I'm still stuck on how incredibly boring the movie looks and sounds.

On the other hand, discussion of it gave me a new book to watch out for.

When you put it that way, it's really no surprise that the fandom for it is completely batshit.

I've managed to mostly avoid the fandom. Of the people I know, I've only seen one try to defend it on that level.

I wonder how much they'd like it if it was about white people finding the planet, trying to infiltrate, and then a blue catperson says "nuh uh," rallies hir people and figuratively drop kicks them all back into space.
