Bones: Season 3 (complete)

Wow, you could practically see the writers strike…err…”strike” in the last few episodes. Though it was quite fun up to that point!

Spoilery comments:

I don’t mind Max getting out of jail (ok, I’m annoyed because I liked that he turned himself in because it was the only way he could be with his daughter because she can’t support him against the legal system, but Brennan is happier with him out of jail) but I don’t like how they pulled it off. It felt very antithetical to Brennan’s character.

While I wonder at the person who approved her, I love that Brennan registered as a foster parent so she could take care of Russ’s future stepdaughters in case anything ever happened to him and Amy. Though, uhm, there’s also something called a Will…

The baby episode worked much better than it should have. I think because they played it as Booth assumed everyone in the universe loved babies if given a chance, and Brennan didn’t start to get attached until he was threatened with foster care.

I really liked Sweets at first, but he started losing appeal once he was helping with the cases. I think because he picked up a bit of the “people are toys” mindset.

Are there really no consequences for Brennan shooting the stalker? I mean, under the circumstances, I doubt anything would happen, but it seems there should be an investigation for taking a federal officer’s weapon and shooting a civilian with no warning, even if it would likely be deemed self-defense.

“Zach is the cannibal’s apprentice” was one of those spoilers you couldn’t avoid when it happened, but even knowing it was coming, it still made no sense.

Yeah, if they'd had actual time to develop it, I might have agreed with the whole Zach-as-cannibal-apprentice premise. But, as it was, it didn't work out.

One of the producers, in an interview, bragged about how he'd just made the decision out of the blue when the writers came back. There was no buildup because there was no planning in the first place. He also bragged about how so many people were pissed off at him. I did not come away with a good impression.
