meganbmooreA followup from Diana Gabaldon regarding fanfic.
Better thought out than her original post, IMO, and given so many author reactions in Race Fail (08? 09?10?) it's very nice to see professionals actually rethinking/revising their stances when confronted with differing views, but I'm not sure much beyond "some people write fic for love" got through. But, progress? And she's donating a set of her books to the charity discussed in the original post.
Incidentally (as I lack the strength to read the comments in the posts) has anyone who is both a fan of Gabaldon's and heavily into fanfic commented much on this? I don't think I've seen that overlap in the reactions I've read.
