Why did I not know about this before, and how can I undo the knowledge.

I mean, seriously, a show that, as presented, is about how brides are irrational control freaks who make everyone miserable?  Sigh.

That show is one of my guilty pleasures. While it is a terrible, awful, sexist piece of crap that no one should ever watch and I will not defend, I do think it provides an interesting perspective on the wedding-industrial complex. (This is not why I watch it and again, is not offered to defend it in any way. But I do find it interesting how the fetishization of 'The Special Day' creates so much stress in people's lives.)

I caught an episode of it once and was fascinated by the same things, but it also made me horribly depressed. I don't know if it holds true for all of the couples featured on the show, but the ones I saw were so invested in strict gender roles and stereotypes that I was honestly worried about their future happiness.
