While logic tells me Julie may be better off not in the middle of a war zone, I miss their relationship a lot. Their interactions were gold.

That does make sense. I think the logic was that they didn't know about Julie (or thought she was dead) so if she wasn't even on their radar, it was a better bet to keep them from even knowing she existed or was alive than to put her in even fortified potential harm's way.
