I paid attention to Fox News on purpose for 60 seconds today. I got to hear them endorse anti-Shinto and anti-Muslim sentiment, but allow that Buddhism is ok because it's passive and peaceful.

Yes.

I was (unwillingly) marinated in conservative culture all during the Clinton years, and I can tell you (from admittedly anecdotal experience) that (between the persecution complex and the echo chamber effect), they tend to get more and more crazy-offensive as a Dem presidency goes on.

Shinto initally came up in the context of a Mosque near Ground Zero was the same as a Shinto shrine at Pearl Harbor.

I had guessed that this was about Naoto Kan (not) going to Yasukuni Jinja this year, but that's even more stupid.

As a native Spaniard, I keep going =__= at people disparaging Cordoba during the Umayyad Caliphate. What the hell, people, my country would not be my country without the Muslim influence in *everything* from language to science or cooking.
