This is what the opening credits look like:
These bats are the scene dividers:
And this is what vampire eyes look like:
Also:
A) I refuse to call this Vampire Gigolo again. I need my self-respect.
B) I read a bit of the manga and will read the rest, but have to say that it didn't feel very Kaori Yuki-ish to me.
No spoilers or hints for future episodes in comments.

Date: 2010-09-07 03:27 am (UTC)1. This is kind of really bad, but awesomely entertaining when viewed in the proper mindset.
2. I love that the setup is "Girl sets out to save girl from vampires!
And will kick as many vampires as she has to in the process."3. One day, I will encounter shoujo or a story based on shoujo where a girl goes to a host club and actually has a clue what goes on there.
4. Suoh's vampire lair is the cheesiest thing ever! All those candles! And he sleeps in a coffin, wearing leather pants! And has coffin hair! And his poor actor can't properly close his mouth because of those teeth. AND THE TRANSFORMATION! OMG THE TRANSFORMATION! The FX are just so...BAD.
5. I love how his client was running out yelling "Suoh! Suoh!" and when Rion asked if he was Suoh, he asked how she knew AND WAS GENUINELY CURIOUS.
6. And he drinks tomato juice! But we're supposed to think it's blood.
7. There is much, much kicking. But only of people sRion thinks are evil abductors. Sadly, she forgot how to kick and punch as soon as she was actually in danger herself so that Suoh could rescue her. *shakes fist*
8. "I've been stabbed in the chest! But it's just a flesh wound! I will now dramatically transform into a vampire and rip off half my clothes and become arrtistically splattered with blood in the process!"
I have no idea.

Date: 2010-09-07 05:36 pm (UTC)I hated that she didn't get to kick the bad guy! I can't remember if that trend continues steadfastly throughout the whole series, though.
...I started skipping forward through those ridiculously jumpy transformation series. In fact, I started to wonder, 'why don't you get staked as you twitch around for, like, a whole minutes?'
He drinks his tomato juice VERY EMOTIONALLY. Okay, the emotion is mostly 'sulking' but, you know, still counts.

Date: 2010-09-08 12:56 am (UTC)I actually like Rion a lot, though yeah, I was not impressed with how helpless she became once she was in actual danger.
And maybe it's just me, but I found Diana hilarious. They should bring her back, just so she can call Suou's name repeatedly and ruin his perfectly sculpted lines.

Date: 2010-09-08 04:44 am (UTC)Hopefully, Rion's helplessness was to show Suoh transform. I think jdramas usually do a decent job of letting the heroines get their licks in.
Those were amazingly deserted streets, weren't they?
