This is my favorite meme!

1. Reply to this post and I will pick 5 of your icons.
2. Make a post and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts, creating a never ending cycle of icon squee.
from birdsarecalling:
1. The fox demon Xin and her sisters from Liao Zhai Zi Qu Ni/Fairies of Liao Zhai. This icon (and scene) are such aserious textile overload. So many pretty clothes! And, uhm, pretty ladies.
2. Oscar and Marie Antoinette from the anime Rose of Versailles. Their youthful courtly love that grows into mature and (probably) platonic friendship, even when they end up on opposite sides, is possibly my favorite part of the series.
3. Izumi from Mei-chan no Shitsuji. She is a teeny, delicate, and refined princess who will flip you over her head and slam you into the ground if you mess with her friends. Or her butler.
4. Uhm...characters in my fiction are more likely to express love by taking on armies than by flowers or sweet words. That is all.
5. Rumina from The Adventures of Sinbad. She is just so gleefully evil! And both sexual and Muslim, not to mention independent and aggressive, all of which kind of makes her anti-stereotype, and so I get a lot of use out of this in racefail discussions. It was used a lot during Moon Gate, let me tell you.
6. Riese! And Fenrir! Uhm...I think that's her wolf's name. I don't watch many webseries, but I seriously love this one, and hope SyFy eventually picks it up for a regular series or miniseries.
from lyssie:
1. Duplicate!
2. Sei and Okita from Kaze Hikaru. It is cute and shoujo-y and historical manga.
3. Manji and Rin from Blade of the Immortal. My most favoritest manga! The characters 9and icon) cater to my "big scruffy loner with wee cute thing" trope love.
4. Chae-Ohk from Damo. My kdrama/dorama girlfriend. She is a badass, stoic, angsty swordswoman and actually gets dirty and hurt in fights, instead of staying pure and pristine and unblemished. ILU, wuxia, but women really can get hurt in fights, ad not just bleed from their mouths due to whatever the reason is this time.)
5. Elizabeth Tudor and Bess Throckmorton from Elizabeth: The Golden Age. The movie is set up as a love triangle between them and Walter Raleigh, with the two fighting over Raleigh, but is really about Elizabeth's love for both, and Bess ends up more the disputed party.
from mfirefly10:
1. My sole Supernatural icon! I have major issues with this show and dumped it when I started hearing things about season 3 (and then watched season 3 after all) but I had much love for Jo.
2. Chiana and Jool from Farscape. This is my "comforting" icon, but i freely admit that they are my OTP of the show.
3. Sierra/Priya from Dollhouse. I have the fannish version of emotional scars from this series and basically stuck it out as long as I did for Dichen Lachman and Olivia Williams, and the only real investment I ever had was Sierra and Sierra/Victor. I ditched it once we got to the episode that was supposed to be all about her, but was really about Topher's Man Pain.
4. Damon and Katherine in The Vampire Diaries. Most of fandom seems to think that Damon was a sweet and innocent lad until he became a vampire, but, IMO, while he was nice and friendly, his sociopathic tendencies were evident then, too, as were his expectations of being owed love. This scene is him trying to avoid being rejected by Katherine, who wasn't even bothering to hide that she was more interested in Stefan. (Which is not to dismiss her actions, but...)
5. Emily and Maya from Pretty Little Liars. People say such a thing does not exist, but it does! But, uhm, yeah, lesbians are rare on TV, lesbians of colour are even rarer, and when they do showup, heaven forbid they get paired with anyone but a white woman. I almost made a unicorn joke with the icon, though.
fromkarate0kat:
1. Lucilla from Gladiator. Despite the flaws and raging manpain, I do love this movie, and most of that is for Lucilla, who is probably one of my favorite movie characters ever.
2. Meg from Disney's Hercules. There are no words for how much I love that this is actually a line from the movie! It may have absolutely nothing to do with actual mythology, but I have great fondness for this movie.
3. One of my stock icons. I...tend to have several stock icons of medieval ladies, usually with a weapon? This is one of my favorites, and I like how the figure isn't setup as Bad Ass Warrior Woman, but looks more like things happened, she grabbed a weapon and hoofed it, and is looking back to check on things.
4. Lauren, Bo and Dyson from Lost Girl. I wanted a Lost Girl icon and I liked this image because, unlike most triangle promo images from other shows, where the disputed party is either the passive recipient of attention from the other parties or has a clear preference between the two, with the 3rd wheel just kind of...looking like they wandered in to a couple pic and no one wanted to kick hir out, here we have Bo actively pulling Lauren in and being all "I can have both?"
5. Uhm...you know, I dislike anti-character/ship icons/fanworks? But I seem unable to not make an exception there for Damon. Which i do feel kind of bad about. But this is one of my favorite scenes, though I don't use it much, as it could easily be misconstrued as being directed at a person I'm replying to.
from prozacpark:
1. Laura and Harry/Remington from Remington Steele. It's a classic show, and the show itself is obsessed with classic movies. Also one of my favorite pairings, and there are no words for my adoration of Laura Holt.
2. Youko and Shoryuu from Twelve Kingdoms. Two of my three favorite characters from the series (the other is Shoukei) and I kind of want them to have adventures together forever and ever.
3. Lily from Legend. One of my favorite 80s fantasies. I...uhm...kind of ignore Jack (though I like him in an abstract/mythic way) and focus of her descent arc and character growth.
4. I forget the character's name, but this is from the first episode of the recent Hometown Legends reboot, and my favorite story of the two series. She is a gumiho out for revenge regarding the ritualistic murders of the woman in her family!
5. Elena and Stefan from Vampire Diaries. I like people dancing, and they are all cute and happy (and seriously, have you ever known a vampire romance couple to actually smile so much?). In general, I kind of...mostly appreciate the lack of fail (not that they're perfect) in the pairing, and root for them? But then I venture out into fandom and see the shipwars and cling to them out of fear of the alternative. Also, I like how he actually hates dancing and parties, but goes to them because she likes them. (And she smells plots if he goes without her.)
