Bless you, show, for finally giving Kate some scenes.

Granted, I wish there's been more that wasn't from Neal's POV, but it was his narration.  Of note:

1.  I'm glad that, regardless of what she was up to in season 1/is up to now (I stand by my theory that she is still alive, and is somehow trying to protect Neal, or was until someone removed her from the playing field, and am sticking with that until proven otherwise) her feelings for Neal seem to have been genuine when they were together.
2.  I'm very glad that she left Neal when he tried to con her after they were partners.  Apparently she didn't when she learned about the Adler con (and I wish we'd seen some more of the fallout from that) but that was probably a "never rty it again" thing.
3.  I like that it was Diana's idea to use Kate to get Neal, though this doesn't seem to suit her apparently newly-minted status from the Pilot. 

Also, Peter, that sucker is four years old.  Forget symbolism and consider that!

Anyway, I've coming to the conclusion that the real reason we don't get Kate scenes is that the combination of Matt Bomer and Alexandria Daddario is blindingly pretty.  Like, they're both exceptionally "too good to be true" pretty in a generically perfect way?  But combined, they're practically blinding.

Well, I suspect she wasn't all that upset about the attempted Adler con b/c that wasn't about her, she just happened to be there and it's not like they knew each other to start with (and well apparently her moral code wasn't all that opposed to cons in general, since she was plenty ready to join in). Although eh, I've got serious problems with him starting a relationship with her without telling her what he was doing, I mean, that's... problematic.

I am disturbed by the combination of Kate and Neal's eyes. THEY BOTH HAVE THOSE CRAZED, TOO-WIDE EYES.

Yeah, I was really bugged by that too? The starting a relationship with her during the con. But he didn't seem to be using any fake personality traits with her, and he was going to let her go with the other guy instead of trying to use any tricks to get her to stay, and came clean as soon as the jig was up, so I was...not exactly ok with it, but less bothered than I would have been with the same setup elsewhere.

I agree that Kate probably got over the Adler con because it wasn't against her, but I would have liked to see how she reacted to the news, as I suspect that would have helped the transition to her being so willing to jump into the grifter lifestyle.

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THE EYES. With Bomer it's...eagerness? With Daddario, I think it's that she's only 24, which is kinda...younger than Kate should be, though I think she does the best she can with what she has. But can you imagine what their kids will be like, if she's alive and they get back together? Blindlingly pretty brunettes who seek to suck out your soul and steal all your money (and paintings) as they stare you into submission with their disturbingly bright eyes.

Yeah, I thought the lack of her reaction was a kind of glaring omission. It's like... BUT ISN'T THAT IMPORTANT???

With Daddario it's not only that her eyes are open too wide, it's that they are also PHYSICALLY ENORMOUS. I did not know that eyes that big like. happened. Bomer's eyes are a pretty normal size, they're just peeled back so wide it's like he's permanently jacked on cocaine.
