Oh, show, I want to draw hearts and flowers all over you like you wouldn't believe.

Also, I really hope that we're now switching the focus to Nikita's narrative, and a bit less of Alex's?  I mean, as fond of Alex and her plot as I am, I sometimes feel that they cast Maggie Q so they could go "Look!  We cast a WOC as our action lead and title character!  Aren't we awesome?" and then had the POV and narrative focus center around the white secondary lead so that they basically end up paying lip service to having a WOC lead while still actually having a white lead.  And then they also seem to shy away from actually identifying her as Asian?  Like, we know a lot about Alex and Michael's pasts and families, but nothing about Nikita's, and when they describe her as someone to look for she's always "pretty" or "has long dark hair."  And both of those are true, but I've never encountered one of these shows before where they didn't also state the ethnicity of the person to look for.  I mean, sure, they aren't going to issue a description like "the incredibly hot Asian woman with long hair and endless legs," but they're are likely to be a lot of pretty women with long dark hair at a big party or walking down the street...

I mean, I love the show, even when it's being silly, and this is the only big problem I really have with it (well, and the underuse of Jaden, which is related), BUT THIS REALLY BUGS ME.

Moving on...

Remember back when the show started, and I said Nikita/Michael was basically made for me on paper, but left me cold due to the total lack of chemistry?  It was very, very true.  And then they started to develop chemistry, but Michael got all uber-manpainy for a while there and mad at Nikita for basically not letting him commit suicide, so it was still a no-go.  (Though I think he's been over the "mad at Nikita" part since about midseason, and his big issue with her since has been worrying that she has it out for Alex.)  But all that is past now.  By which I mean, I ship it forever.  Unless it gets screwed up somehow.  I am pleased to note that she still pwns him all over the place.

Also, did anyone not call Percy being responsible for Michael's family's deaths?  Because, really, he'd need a reason beside Nikita and Alex to switch sides.  I mean, they're enough of a reason (I didn't believe Michael's threats against Alex at all, though I think both he and Nikita believed it until they calmed down) but he needed something to completely disillusion him to shift from trying to protect them by not turning them in to actually joining them.

CW, please don't cancel this show.
