Tokyopop is closing down it's manga publishing in the US*, Viz is cancelling Gintama after Vol 23, and appears to have just stopped putting Kaze Hikaru out**, Damon Salvatore still isn't dead and The Vampire Diaries still hasn't figured out the difference between love and obsession***, women don't read fantasy****, and oh yes, there's a huge wildfire less than an hour's drive from here that's spreading and they can't get out because there's been no rain since I think February*****.
On the other hand, Haven is coming back in July.
*I wasn't reading much from them these days, but am mostly focusing on the PURE TRAGEDY that the Twelve Kingdoms books came out after years and years of waiting, and we're losing them before we get to any of the books that weren't adapted into the anime.
**I'm several volumes behind reading (but not purchasing) both, but that isn't the point.
***It's a futile hope, but it's a hope.
****I guess about 1/3 of my books and DVDs, once we include science fiction, are clutter I'm holding onto for a non-existent boyfriend? Though I do love how the picture in this is Cersei clearly plotting someone's death in the name of her quest to rule the world.
*****Moving very very slowly. Slowly enough that there have been no deaths because people are having plenty of time to evacuate and the farmers and ranchers are having enough time to transport the livestock they can to safety, and to let loose the livestock they can't. They just can't stop it and are pretty much down to hoping it burns itself out.
ETA: I think I'll just make icons of Julia Ormond and Katerina Graham now.
ETA2: They finally managed to stop the fire spreading once it cooled off and the wind finally died down. Air is still very smoky though, and getting moreso.
