Vampire Diaries 2.18
Apr. 15th, 2011 10:16 pm-I was considering shipping Katherine/Klaus in a masochism tango way until he made her stab herself. Still, I like him as a villain. Really, I like all of TVD’s villains
(Unless we count John as a villain? I think we’re meant to see him as a good guy who isn’t very likable.) except Damon. Of course, the difference between Damon and Katherine/Jules/Isabel/Elijah/Klaus and Damon is that they’re all gleeful/sneaky/Machiavellian/suave evil, and Damon is creepy-stalkery-self-righteous-”feel bad for me as I rape, murder, abuse and patronize women” evil.
-If Elena can own properties and Bonnie can serve as witness, does that mean they’re both 18 now? Also, it is possible that this episode made me ship them, especially when Elena basically asked Bonnie to escort her to the dance after Stefan said no. (When it comes to f/f in this show, I’m mostly Bonnie/Caroline and Katherine/Universe.)
-Damon and Elena’s dance was very creepy but clearly meant to be romantic and cute. (Every episode makes me more disturbed that we’re supposed to see Damon-to-Elena as romantic instead of creepy obsession.) Bonnie and Damon’s dance was ridiculously hot, and just made me extremely bitter that I hate him too much to even one-sided ship them now like I almost did in season one.
-I am very worried about Caroline! Especially that Liz might be planning to kill her! (Also, was anyone else really hoping they’d do something super cheesy and have Tyler show up at the dance, even though you knew better? Also, Caroline and Stefan dancing was adorable, even with the subject matter.)
-Is it humanly possible for Bonnie to get more epic? Because, seriously.
-You know, I don’t object to Damon and Bonnie’s plan, given the circumstances. I just object to Damon’s self-righteous attitude about it. Also, I just…the show wants us to see his love as true and doomed and selfless? But every single scene meant to make us think that just emphasizes that it isn’t love but an obsessive need to use her for validation and justification. He wants her to be a specific way and expect specific things and inspire him in ways that will make him “deserve” her, and it exists completely in opposition to anything she actually wants and the people she loves.
-I wish I knew if Klaus’s witch was being compelled! Mostly because I have a theory that witches can’t be compelled or turned (into a werewolf or a vampire) and must know for that!
-Klaus has my permission to kill Alaric.
