If anyone here is thinking about watching City Hunter but isn't sold yet, here's an incentive:

Meanwhile, Dichen Lachman is apparently going to be a regular is season 2 of the US version of Being Human. I watched up through the second episode of the UK version before I couldn't take the universe (especially women's pain and experiences, because how important can those be, right?) being all about George's Man Pain, even though there were other things I liked.

I've heard mixed things about the US version, but Lachman was one of the few goos things about Dollhouse and she and her character were the only reason I stuck with it as long as i did, until I got to the episode with her origin an it pissed me off so muxh that the rest of the series could have been nothing but the Sierra and Victor Show, and I probably still wouldn't have watched. But I suppose Lachman as a vampire is worth checking it out. I just need to decide if i'm going to watch season one first.

It's ok though, because Starz has cancelled Camelot, freeing me up a TV spot. Camelot's cancelation is actually a relief? I probably would have watched season 2 despite my resolutions and been consistently annoyed at how it had interesting elements in it's take on the elements and how their setup could have been brilliantly deconstructive if it hadn't been so hung up on The Great Tales Of Men (and it actually did address some of the issues with the legends, especially Ygraine and Ygraine/Uther and Uther in general, it just...all got mixed in with the Fail).

On the subject of Camelot, let me take a moment to rant a bit about how this was treated as an inconvenient roadblock in The Path of True and Epic Love:

Yes, he is covering her with his shield. Specifically, she unknowingly rode into a battlefield while the two sides were hiding behind their walls and he recognized her before anyone else, vaulted over their defenses and ran to her while being shot at while everyone else was still registering "Wait, did he just say that was Guenevere? Did she just get shot?"

This is less than 48 hours after learning she slept with someone else on their wedding day.

Here is Arthur, showing up way later and wishing he'd been the one to notice so he could seldlessly risk life and limb and get that look:

Arthur's idea of True Love is to passively aggressively bully a woman he barely knows into having sex with him on her wedding day (to his very limited credit, I doubt he actually realized, at that time, the typical consequences of refusing your king, especially when you live in his house and he's your husband's boss and he has you secluded so that your options are sex, insulting the king, or bashing the king over the head with a rock, but I don't think anyone can argue that Guenevere would have ever agreed to have sex with Arthur if he'd actually respected her and listened when she refused him, instead of keeping after her) and then spend the entire season insisting that she acknowledge their attraction and that there's something between them no matter how many times she rejected him. (Frankly, I kept trying to read anything into Guenevere's feelings for Arthur beyond an attraction she didn't want and a respect for his position. The only time she was really willing to talk to him about anything but business was when he invited himself along on her roadtrip and she was again in the position of accepting him or telling off the king. He basically came across as Uther's son, even after Ygraine called him on creepy stalkery obsessive behavior, even if he wasn't as bad about it after that.)

So, basically, yeah. According to these writers, passive aggressive stalking >>selfless devotion.
