Reading this, I actually forget this is supposed to be a time travel series unless it comes up. And then I wish we were getting some glimpses of the present and the consequences of the first volume. But then there are crossdressing spy antics and I don't care.
Actually, I'm glad that Ari actually isn't good at spying at all and that it causes trouble? In any other series, she'd keep scraping by and not getting caught, despite what she was up to being pretty obvious. (Also, I kept being fearful of a rape/attempted rape scene while she was stuck with Misa Seul [I think that's his name], and was so happy nothing like that happened.)
And it's weird, because sometimes I think Bub Min Ho is the only character I like, and then I think I love everybody except the bad guys. I find, though, that I don't really care about Ari and Ja-Yun's (I'm just using their past names) past, and actuallt hope that it ends with Ari getting over him. (I suppose if I want her with anyone, it's Bub Min Ho, but I think it will end with her returning to the present, and I hope that when that happens, she'll just move on.)
But the art is so beautiful (espcially the clothes) and the politics and plot structure are like a heavily political saguek got invaded by a fluffy shoujo. I'm worried, though, that this is going to end with everyone in the past dead (I'm not familiar enough with the history surrounding the events to know) and do not want that. Though, it probably will happen, or the events here will...unhappen?...and have the "real" historical Ari redo things with a more enlightened perspective.
