Should you, like me, be lured into watching the 2008 movie Three kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon on the basis that it is a wuxia with Maggie Q, I feel compelled to advise you that she doesn't appear until 60 minutes into the 97 minute movie. Just saying.
The movie is about the life of Zhao Zilong/Zhao Yun )played by Andy Lau) of Romance of Three Kingdoms fame. I'm not familiar with Rot3K, but I understand the only way they could have a woman in the part of the story that the main action is sert in is if they just made one up, so they gave Cao Cao a ruthless granddaughter.
Anyway, the movie is fun if not the best thing ever. Unsurprisingly, Andy Lau and Maggie Q have great chemistry in their one scene together, though I imagine that you have to look hard to find someone that either of them doesn't have chemistry with.
But anyway, apparently one of the criticisms of the movie is that Maggie Q refused to wear a costume that had real fur because she's a vegan. I'm not a vegan and I agree with that-it's for a movie, not even something that's actually needed for warmth or anything practical. (Plus, the non-fur costume was way better anyway, and i wish she'd just worm that the whole time.) But you know, the fake fur looked pretty good and fitting. As opposed to Andy Lau's samurai armor and everyone in the army wearing what looked like WWI helmets.
I'm just saying.
