WisCon Schedule
May. 9th, 2012 06:00 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Thursday:
Should reach the hotel around 6 pm. Will meet Roommate #1, prozacpark, and most likely be starving and so promptly drag her to Noodles so I can get a giant bowl of Wisconsin Mac & Cheese. I plan to stop in at Room after. May not (probably won't) be in time for all of the reading and may just chill/browse until people start coming out to say hi to people. Don't think I'll be going to kareoke this year, but that might change.
Friday:
From whenever I am told to get there to help et up until cleanup is finished, I will be at The Gathering, doing...whatever I'm told, basically. Hopefully Roommate #2, aphrodite_mine, will pop in at some point after she arrives.
10:30 PM: A Princess With a Sword Is Still a Princess: Modern Adaptations of Fairy Tales
(and then immediately shower + bed , assuming I'm not tragically too tired to even go)
Saturday:
As soon as I wake up: FARMER'S MARKET. And its 500 kinds of bread.
1:00 PM: TRAGIC CONFLICT: Sensational Women of the 16th Century , Utena: The Revolution Continues
2:30 PM: ANOTHER TRAGIC CONFLICT: Asian Ancestresses , Considering the Female Villain
4:00 PM: Girl Cooties: Considering the Romance Novel (I am on this panel, are you?)
(Dangit I can't go to the ATLA panel!)
Sunday:
10:00 AM: Feminism and the YA Explosion
2:30 PM: Fairy Tales in Shoujo Anime & Manga (I am on this panel, are you?)
GoH speeches. Already navigated away from the schedule, so I forget what time.
Monday: Bid farewell to roommates, move in with new roommate for Monday night. Spend day resting and wandering streets and in and out of events and unwinding.
Tuesday: Go home around 11:00.
All weekend: HANG OUT WITH PEOPLE.
The panels above are panels I plan to attend.
Potential panels should I feel like it at the time:
Friday:
4:00 PM: Anime & Manga: What I Read & Watched Since WisCon 35 , Anti-Heroism Defined
9:00 PM: YA Love Triangles: Cultural Advance or Retreat?
Saturday:
10:00 AM: The Powerless Heroine
1:00 PM: We're Not Contortionists: Ridiculous Female Positions in SF/F and Comic Artwork , It's Actually Quite Hard to Rip a Bodice: How to Use (and Not Abuse) Historical Details in Fiction
I'm sure there will be others I'm interested in at the time. Also, did I miss the Twilight panel, or did it not make the cut? I planned to be a vocal audience member!
I'm not currently planning to go to any parties (except some of the Vid party, if I'm able-which basically means "if i don't go to a panel instead") but that might change.
