Oh look, SPN/J2 fans are having issues with happily (as far as anyone knows) married people deciding to have a baby.  Again.

(I mean, seriously, is there some sort of subliminal messaging going on with that show?  I've seen perfectly rational people lose it over this before.  Whatever it is thankfully doesn't affect all SPN fen, at least.  Just...the more vocal ones.)

Every time I think those people can't get any crazier, they somehow do. I mean, plotting to forcibly out these men, under the "logic" that doing so would be supportive of the gay rights movement, and thinking that the guys owe them the "truth" because they've "supported" the guys' secret gay relationship. That is just... what.

Granted, SPN isn't the first fandom to exhibit this particular variety of batshit — the Domlijah tinhats were pretty bad back in the heyday of the LOTR films, or so I heard.

These folk seem even scarier, though I wasn't in either fandom beyond 'looking at the crazy and getting a funny look on my face.' I seriously worry when this stuff comes up about stalkers and suchlike.

Gosh. This is why RPF has always seemed like it's too invasive and I've always been a little squicked by it. Too many people get so caught up in their fanfictions, they forget what's real and what they read in a smut doc yesterday.
