Ok, just finished the latest volume of Hana Kimi(vol 13) and due to its nature, coherent talk about it is impossible unless you severely limit yourself to a line or two.  A quick look at my LJ lately will tell you how inclined I am towards THAT, so...

First of all, Himejima's little brothers are the most darling manga kids EVER.  In looks and personality, they're a pair of mini-Mizuki's with bits of Himejima thrown in.  And Umeda making them warm milk probably made his fan rating skyrocket.  There wasn't nearly enough Umeda in this book.  Or Sano.  Or Nanba.  Or any regular cast members except Mizuki.  But the "not enough Umeda"(and Nanba) thing has been going around for a few books now...ever since the Akiha story wound down(so glad he didn't just disappear)  But there was Mizuki/Sano tickle torture and "how do you REALLY feel about me?" on his part, and that counted for at least 10-15 pagesof Sano...as does leaning on each other when they fell asleep.  I can't believe Sano has survived this long with his sanity intact.  I think the only thing that keeps him fom going nuts(hormonally) is that he's(pretty rightly) convinced Mizuki will leave if she knowsthat he knows she's a girl(personally, I think Nanba, Akiha, and Kayashima also know, but just haven't said anything...but their knowing is less important than Sano's knowing...THEY haven't been sharing a room with her and having her fall into their bunks or forget that she has the top bunk when she's really tired for the last year. )  and speaking of Kayashima...you may never get to do much besides comment on people's auras, but I shall now completely huggle you ever chance I get.  Go Nakatsu, take your rabid self forth and properly deal with those boorish ill mannered uneducated thoughtless oafs who were mean to your roommate.

52 Week #13-14:  Question is awesome.  Montoya is still basically a guy with breasts(and it takes a LOT to get me to say something like that)  The Question beyond rocks and makes Montoya bearable and his recent mini MUST be collected. (yes, it neede repeating) The Black Adam stuff is cool, but Isis concerns me.  Ralph...urm...I suspect the main point of the cult storyline was a new out for resurrections.  I don't want Ralph to go all batty...

Fables #52:  Aaah, bliss. considerably better than #51(which was still quite, quite fun) and so far it's holding upto the "Homelands" arc, which is tied with "Storybook Love" as my favorite storyline.  Also, I love that the Snow Queen is getting attention, given my love of that fairy tale(bring in Gerda already, Willingham...) and that Willingham brought back the scribe from Homelands.  Hansel is scary, though.  And it would suck to be Rapunzel.

Noble Causes #22:  Ooooh...I SO hope that there's only ever been one Rae, just so Rucsty will have to eat crow.  He's the LAST person who should ever say "Oh, you're a robot.  You must be evil."  And Frost, I know you secretly love your siblings and act out because, frankly, they treated you so bad for so long that they don't deserve what loyalty you show them, but that one is seriously going to come back and get you big time.  And Race...prozac.  Now.

Secret Six #3: This book is scary fun.  I should be backing away from it very, very slowly, but I absolutely adore it.  Also, Vandal Savage was cooler there than he's usually allowed to be.  I think Gail Simone devotes all her time for this book pandering to the fandoms that usually scare me, but its addictive here...right now, this book is worlds better than Birds of Prey.  That actually saddens me a bit...

Usagi Yojimbo #95:  A bit of a darker, more serious issue than is usual for Usagi.  This one had no Uasgi at all, but was instead about a member of the League of Assassins, as a lead-in to the next storyarc.  A good issue, but it'll be best read as a prologue when the storyline is collected.
