Mom decided that we needed to go clothes shopping after lunch because she had a coupon for Penney's and she knew I didn't have work today because of the CPR certification renewal. As she was paying, there was no way to easily get out of it. Now, I love my mother absolutely and unconditionally, but...sigh...
However, afterwards, I went to Waldenbooks and they had the new book of ES: Eternal Sabbath, so there was compensation. Went back after CPR and got the second Skip Beat, too.
After which, I came home, watched an ep of Remington Steele and checked things online, then headed for CPR training. I've been CPR certified for 5 or 6 years now, but I ALWAYS forget how exhausting it is.
For those who have never had CPR training, you spend at least an hour giving breaths and compressions on mannequins that only react to the same force it would take for it to work on an actual person. That's a LOT of deep breaths and the compressions have been changed to about 30 in 20 seconds...you literally but the majority of your upper body weight into getting THROUGH the ribcage(as opposed to about 20 in 15 seconds, immediately under the ribcage) to the heart and lungs. It's hard work...I have slightly sore arms...
And, at long last, I have finished Remmington Steele.
*notes that all money involved is hers, making her decisions final decisions, in regards to things actually coming home, as the cheap bin is where most of my clothes that I pay for come from*
Mom is looking at something, I look, I like, Mom decides it's the wrong thing to get.
Mom is looking at something, I look, I'm neutral about, Mom adds it in and says I should at least check it out.
I'm looking at something, I like, Mom thinks it's wrong for me.
I go try on. Her money, so she wants to see it first(fair, but one day, she must realize that I dress the way I do out of choice, not ignorance)
Pretty much rinse, repeat.
Then, today, she decides some clothes are in the wrong place because of their size, so she pulls them off the rack and drapes them over a sales rack nearby, saying she's doing it so a salesperson will put them in the right place. Nevermind that any salesperson who sees it will think someone just pulled them off the rack and will put them right back where she got them from...with the OTHER suits EXACTLY like it, just in larger sizes...

To explain that saying...about 2/3s through the first episode of REmmington Steele, when Laura learned Steele had been masquerading as her fictitious employer, Remington Steele, I was surprised she didn't take one of her high heeled dress through and use it to stab him through the heart. I continued to have the same thought for about 3/4s of the episodes of the entire series(a con artist is always looking for a con, even if he has good intentions)
Anyway, despite things I've heard, both seasons 4 and 5 were good. Most of 4 was about the same as 3(and the first 2 eps, which I babbled about extensively last weds) Which is to say quite excellent and entertaining and made me exstatically happy(despite Mildred regressing to early season 2 annoying behavior and causing endless problems for the agency and never getting more than a glare for it... I don't dislike her, and she usually amuses me more than she annoys me, she's just no compensation for losing Murphy and Bernice...I understand why Murphy had to go, but couldn't we have kept Bernice...)
As far as season 5 goes...I can see why a lot of fans didn't like it, but I still thought it was pretty good. I think they made Tony Roselli a little TOO much of a romantic rival for Laura's affections...if he'd show up in season 2 or 3, it could have worked better, but the series was too far along for him to work well in that role) However, it wrapped up everything rather nicely, and well. And it had Chalmers.
