Maybe I should be greatful my internet went out.  If it hadn't I'd likely be sitting here all ansty because  had 1 episode of Veronica Mars left to watch.

I'm thinking this will be extremely spoiler heavy, so...

Where to start(what what have I already said so that I won't repeat myself)

First of all, Sheriff Lamb, while you are still a Love to Hate character for me, there is a special, special place for you after what you just did at graduation.  There was no reason to do that beyond being an evil jerk.  I spit on you and cuddle poor Weevil.

All people bearing the Casablancas blood, you are complete scum.

Duncan, after the reveal about the night of the rape, I loathe you even more(more on that in a bit)

It seems Keith and Alicia are no longer dating, which kills my dreams of Mars-Fennell Christmases and Wallace and Veronica being lovingly blackmailed into doing each other's chores.  Such is life.

On to the important stuff.

While I think the major mystery of season 1(Lilly's murder) was better, I think the season 2 mystery was handled better.  The reveal for season 1 blindsided me, as there was no connection to the two storylines until then.  Yes, whn you stop to think about it, it makes perfect sense, but it didn't all suddenly click together all at once like it did with season 2.  Things start falling in line right before the reveal, including the rape storyline from season 1, and it all clicked into place all at once, with a few straggling bits quickly falling in line.

Back to the rape bit.  Beaver lied and didn't put Veronica in the bedroom and then leave.  He had sex with her unconscious body and left her there.  It's revolting to think about, but it fit.  HOWEVER!  I've stated before that I don't think Duncan really thought the sex was consentual...Veronica was blatantly out of it the whole night, I think he told himself that since she responded, she wanted it.  To me, sleeping with an obviously drugged girl even though you didn't drug her is rape.  In addition, he slept with her having information that, had she known about it, he knew perfectly well she never would have consented.  To me, that's rape, too.  I think the reason I hated Veronica/Duncan in season 2 was that, no matter what, she was dating the guy who raped her.  Except, I think we were supposed to still see him a her "first, starcrossed love" instead.  Anyway.  A guy has sex with a virgin(wearing a white dress at that...) and leaves her there without washing her off or anything.  Anyone else who comes along and sees her there is going to see some...well...stuff...that makes it pretty obvious what happened.  So, Duncan had sex with Veronica, KNOWING that she'd just had sex, for the first time, with someone else.  Given that she was unconscious when he came in  and her obviously drugged state, the TRUTH is what he should have thought of.  In any cae, the fact that she still had blood and...other things...on her should have told him what he SHOULD have done. Instead he had sex with an obviously drugged girl.  Because of that, I find him to be more revolting than Aaron OR Beaver.  And that's bad...

And, to end things on a happier note, I shall now talk about Weevil a bit.  Nw,I've always liked Weevil, but up until the cash box theft, I don't think I ever stopped to actually think about him, unlike most of the other characters.  In season 1, Weevil was basically the "gangster with a heart of gold" and Veronica's pet gangster(well, he was...)  Yeah, he was a bag of doodoo in many ways, but he tried in school, didn't do or deal drugs, and very little of what he did went beyond hazing.  In season 2, he does a lot of things that, on the surface are pretty bad(beating Curly, terrorizing Logan, etc.) but those things are also the only things that kept the victims from being outright killed.  In addition, we learn that he's largely responsible for keeping drugs out of the school.  But it's not until he gets kicked out of the PCHers that he really gets to shine.  I think what it was was when I realized he never denied lying to Veronica about stealing the money, and then the next episode when he knew that all he had to do was NOT go after her and her curiosity would le him "win."  Of all the characters, I'd say Weevil understands Veronica the best, largely because, in a lot of ways, he IS Veronica(just like Elizabeth in Pirates of the Caribbean is almost another version of Captain Jack).  He's just as smart, clever(but street smart instead of book smart) crafty, loyal and devious as she is.  More than anyone else, they know exactly what buttons to push with each other, and how to get what they want.  Because they're the same buttons.  This is not a "they belong ogether"(while a small bit of me ships them, it is drowned by the LoVe shipping)  Anyway, Weevil is the kind of guy that, in a book, movie or show about himm he'd be a gangster now, but grow up to be a successful lawyer or cop or community leader or some such.  I think that his helping the PCHers was his final goodbye to the "bad" life, and betrayer Thumper(the wretch) to the FitzParticks was his last(and worst) step outside the law, done more for Felix than for himself.

And on that note..I need to get me some Veronica Mars icons...
