Also know as "some stuff I've been watching"
Dead Like Me
I think that, in terms of cancelled TV shows, te only thing that makes me sadder than the fact that there were only 2 seasons of DLM is that there was only 1 season of Firefly. Like most TV shows, season 1 of DLM was getting to know the world/characters, and season 2 was setting up all the big stuff...and then it was cancelled. *sigh* a lot of interesting stuff was set up that'll never be followed through on. Still, quite good, even if I did get continually more and more depresed the closer I got to the end, knowing there wouldn't be more. I particularly liked Rube and Daisy's storylines(incidentally, Daisy is the character that interested me the least this season) My dislike for George's dad, though, was firmly cemented(I KNOW that man did not start fishing for dinner invites from the wife he cheated on and asked to divorce him...)

Hercules
Ah my teen years...I loved this show so. A lot of people hear "Camp" and "Greek mythology" and dismiss it, but the point is that it took something that didn't really get used a lot, and made it fun. The TV movies from before the series didn't hold up as well as expected, but, aside from the first and last, were quite, quite fun. Of course, aside from Iolaus(what makes the series) the main thing about it's appeal is the supporting characters, of whom only Salmoneus, the eternal toady and travelling salesman, makes an appearance here. It also gave me a desire to get the Xena DVDs, even though I didn't like that series nearly as much. Now I must wonder why Young Hercules isn't on DVD yet...

The Thin Man
How did I live before I knew about this series and it's successors? I've wanted to see this series ever since I learned it was one of the chief inspirations for "Remington Steele" and like pairings, and it was more than worth the investment. I also see, now, why I occassioally saw "Hart to Hart" referred to as nothing more than a ripoff of threse(though I do think that's a bit too harsh) These movies were pure magic...and really, how often to you see a movie series where all 6 movies are pure magic, each just as good as the last, and actually make the addition of the main characters having a child in the mix work? This is also one of the rare times when, despite being very interested in the stories themselves, I actually found myself zoming out to the main stories to just listen to the dialogue and watch the antics(which sounds like a good excuse for a rewatch sometime soon for me)
