meganbmooreFinished it last night, extremely good(don't know if I'd go as far as to say that it changed the way I look at fantasy, but good) As I think pretty much everyone on my Flist who would read it has, I won't do a proper review, but some thoughts...

I was surprised Ned was killed off in the first book. He was obviously fated to be a martyr from the start, but I was thinking it wouldn't happen until book 2, and certainly after he got around to telling us who Jon's real parents are.
My favorite started out and remained Jon Snow and Arya, though I'm pretty fond of all the Starks. I think I like Sansa more than most do in the first book...her only real problem is that she's spoiled, which is hardly her fault(and she's getting over it)
I must say, I know Jaime has a lot of fans, but I have to say that he has a long way to go before he'll be a character I like...incest, multiple murders out of pique and attempted murder of a small child aren't exactly easy to get past(ok, the middle one yes, if there are reasons, but notthe other two...though, oddly, neight particularly bothers me with Hakkai in Saiyuki)
