Basara: Shipy cuteness and Shippy angst

The Okinawa arc of Basara(mid-vol 8 through mid-vol 10) is pretty much what moved it from being something I really liked to my favorite series. At this point in the series, Sarasa, who started with nothing, has started to gather allies and a base of power, but she lost been blinded in battle and went to Okinawa to see if her mentor, Nagi's, mentor Dr. Basho, can heal her(at the point the scans below take place, she's only just regained her sight) and Shuri, who seemingly started with everything, has lost everything and ended up in Okinawa to lick his wounds and recoup his losses and has to restart with even less than Sarasa started with.
This scene MIGHT be my favorite scene in Basara. In it, Shuri and Sarasa have-separately-uncovered a plot to assassinate the president of Okinawa(they learned the other was there in the resulting fight) and are FINALLY able to get a bit of alone time. What makes the scene stand out for me is the later part, but I bring you reunions, underwater kissing, cuteness, angst, and burning slave brands off your OTPs back at his request.
The short version of the above is probably "If you only read one of my Basara posts, I guess it should be this one."

note: as photobucket automatically scales down images and you can't read it, what Dr. Basho is saying in the vexed-Shuri panel is "if we don't have one, we don't have one."

BTW, that's *hem* as far as they go at the time.

note: Asagi is Shuri's brother who was responsible for his downfall(and knows the truth about Sarasa/Tatara, though no one knows he knows) in the last book, he taunted Shuri-who didn't know where Sarasa was-by saying that he had her in his clutches and Shuri's been fretting(read: obsessively worrying but with no way to investigate) about that.

note(a lot of notes here...): his cover had been that he was a travelling salesman, pretty much(hers was closer to the truth-that she was an orphan travelling from relative to relative) because he didn't want her to just be one of the Red King's woman and wants to keep her apart from that part of the life until it's safe for her.

first panel, she's saying "still energetic...and horny"
Here comes the part that makes it stand out for me.

burning off brand=completely throwing off everything in the past and freeing himself from his scumbag father. As he shall explain momentarily.
