I'm 2 eps into the Nicholas Tse/Dicky Cheung cdrama, Handsome Siblings, and loving it so far. it's about two swordsmen, Little Fish(cheung) and Flawless Flower(Tse)(yes, I know I know, but they do have explanations for the names...) Little Fish is a smooth talking, and fast talking, prankster, who can always find a personal reason to object to injustice. He seems to be a competent fighter, but he mostly relies on his pranks and mouth to win the day. Flawless Flower is the only male apprentice of the Floral Palace, a haven for female fighters who punish men they believe have cruelly wronged women(in ep 2 Little Fish asks him why he doesn't like women...he replies that he doesn't dislike women, but he was raised by female warriors who kept every other man around in cages. He's just justifiably wary.) They meet when Little Fish is asked by an old man he saves to get justice against the man who abandoned and killed his daughter so he could marry a richer woman. However, the assassin who was sent to kill the girl was greedy and tried to sell her to a brothel instead, and she escaped and went to the ladies of Floral Palace, who sent Flawless Flower to bring the man to them to justice. They bicker, but become friends in the fashion of the clever guy who just can't bear to see someone so inhumanly composed and serious, and the serious guy who finds him amusing.
They meet again when Little Fish is helping Lady Orchid look for the fate of her father, the former leader of the Jianghe(local govt, I assume, the combined power of Tse and Cheung was distracting me during the explanation) determine the fate of her father. To do so, she must gain control of the Jianghe, so she and Little Fish enter the tournament to determine thenew leader. The ladies of Floral Palace decide they want to control the Jianghe, too, and send Flawless Flower(who had met Orchid earlier when he saved her and Little Fish from bandits) to enter the competition. Of course, neither man can actually let himself hurt her(heck, Flawless Flower catches her after making her fall) and as a result, both lose. But with Little Fish's help, she's able to beat the other opponents and proceed to the second round, and both men help her.
I really like both men, and Orchid(in fact, I like both sides of the romantic triangle so much already that I had to investigate to see which way it went to make sure I didn't get attached to the wrong option, hence the vids. BTW, it's the one I slightly preferred) So far, it's mostly comedy with a fair dose of action thrown in, but Chinese Paladin taught me that a comedic start isn't going to stop tons of angst and drama. A few of Little Fish's pranks are too much for me, but nothing TOO much yet. One thing I like is that both guys are pretty good at making whatever's at hand their weapon of choice, though Flawless Flower usually falls back to his sword and his fan(yes, Nicholas Tse fights with a fan again...though, the character he makes me think of is Monsairaku in Otogi Zoshi, though I doubt his character will go in the same direction as Sai)
Anyway, good series so far.

This vid is essentially Nicholas Tse looking absurdly good and kicking butt. And angsting in the rain.
OTP angst angst angst. And spoilers.
