Handsome Siblings eps 6-10

I'm actually mildly annoyed with the last two eps. If you've read my other posts, you know that I adore the character of Little Fish, but I like him as a part of the main story. When it broke off for about an ep and a half for his backstory it was fine-the other characters can be explained pretty well with a few lines, but you need to SEE his upbringing to really get it. However, any time the show has focused on one character over another so far, it's been him...a little more equality, please. That said, using Chinese Paladin and Lost in the Chamber of Love and even The Gentle Crackdown as standards and based on the MVs I've seen and a few spoilers I've come across while trolling for pics, they're piling on the humor now to compensate for piling on the angst later, and the focus does shift more to Flawless Flower later.
That said, the main reason I'm irritated with it is because he's SUPPOSED to be off getting this red...uhm...flower thing...that will save Orchid's life(Flawless Flower's masters objected to his falling in love) but instead he's sidetracked to make googly eyes at Xian. I mean, priorities here...

There is one thing that makes it less annoying, though.

Seriously, how adorable is she, anyway? That's Xian, the girl he likes. Her cuteness compensates for the annoyance. And when they meet, she rescues him...
Before that, though, we had Little Fish and Orchid reuniting with Flawless Flower, who Little Fish has decided to just call "Flower," and I think I'll follow his example. They also acquire Yu Yan who...urm...more on that in a few *doesn't like.* But for short purposes: Yu Yan is a girl looking for her father who's tricked and sold to a brothel. When Little Fish tries to help her, she rejects him and says she can't trust a man. So, since he vows that HE won't help her, he drags Flower over to the rooftop across from her room that night, knowing that, while Flower can ignore a woman being harassed in the streets, he can't ignore a woman about to be raped, thus solving the problem of saving her without saving her himself. What I love about that, though, is when Flower realizes she's not *hem* "properly attired" and turns around so fast he could get whiplash...then opens his fan in Little Fish's face and uses it to start propelling him backward.
They reunite Yu Yan with her father, and at the same time, both Flower and his masters realize that he's fallen in love with Orchid, and his masters kidnap her and take her back to Floral Palace, planning to force him to kill her as proof of his loyalty(btw,
dangermousie, there are cages involved...) Course, it doesn't work out well and they put a death curse on her, but later, one of them-the one who saved the twins at birth-tells them how to cure her.
In the meantime, we get things like this:

Normally, I like my romantic relationships to get more development before we reach the "killing one because the other fell in love with them" stage, but I think it works pretty well, here. Yeah, Orchid starts crushing on him the second she sees him, but it's shown as a crush that's developing into more. And Flower...well...he doesn't know how to express or emote at all, really. Orchid is nice and open and friendly-all of which are completely new to him-but still strong...to me, it makes sense that he'd easily fall for her, even if he doesn't realize it at first. Of course, he has no idea how to put it into words, and when his masters ask him about it, he really can't explain himself or his feelings, but if his lack of denial didn't tell them all they needed to know, then his completely freaking out when he saw they had her dressed like a maid of Floral palace would have clued them in.
And now, Yu Yan. *sigh* As a lot of you know, I often tend to like-sometimes more than the mains-the "Other Woman" in doramas, even when others hate them(though in the case of Chinese Paladin, I'm actually in the majority, from what I've read) There are, until now, 3 exceptions: Yukari in Kurosagi(what did she need, a restraining order? "He doesn't like you" tattooed on her forehead?) the girl who liked Kang Dong-Won's character in 1% of Anything(kidnapped the heroine and called his rival, thinking he'd come and rape her and ruin their relationship-fortunately, he was, you know, a good guy, and as soon as he knew she was OK he caled Dong-Won to come and take care of her) and the brat in The Gentle Crackdown(tried to both kill and disfigure the heroine more than once and literally arranged for the hero to die a traitor if he didn't agree to marry her) A fourth seems to be being added, though.
Yu Yan is a complete user...she flat out tells Little Fish that there's no point in pretending to like him because she'd rather like Flower because ofg his looks, but that she knows it doesn't matter because Little Fish will help her if she needs help anyway because that's the way he is, so there's no reason to pretend to like him. And then she tries to frame him for attempted rape(fortunately, Flower got her number while she was busy making googly eyes at him and figured out it was a trick right away) Then there's her trying to kill the ill(and sleeping at the time) Orchid because she figures Flower will notice her if Orchid's gone(sorry, girl, not going to happen...even if he wasn't the "one woman" type of man, he doesn't trust you and frankly, you're kinda like some of the women at Floral Palace)
That said, TPTB aren't trying to treat her as "cute" or, once she starts scheming, sympathetic despite a rather sad backstory, so she doesn't really bother me in the context of my being irritated when she's on...I don't like her and I'm not supposed to.
Aside from Yu Yan and Xian, though, there have been 2 other female characters introduced...Yu Sing, a doctor who practices unorthodox methods, and Yufeng, the villain's daughter and Yu Yan's half sister. Both have only had a few scenes so far, but I rather like them.
