Well, finally set down with this set. (Well, it's only been out a week or two, but I figured it'd get popped in the DVD player as soon as it came. Blame
dangermousie for getting me hooked on doramas)
It's a good thing the few eps I was able to catch on TV were midseason...otherwise, I'd be wanting to smack Sam at time. Granted, he's not nearly in as much of a vengeance/anger state as he could be, but it's enough to make me glad he at least gets a little better. However, ever since Jensen Ackles showed up as Alec in season 2 of "Dark Angel," he's pretty much been my sole priority when he's around, and that hasn't changed.
Pretty good show. The lack of any supporting cast stands out a lot more than it did, and that's something the show really needs...heck, 1-2 people would help a lot. I love the roadtrip/family aspect, but it doesn't leave much room in terms of relationships beyond "Sam and Dean bicker. Sam and Dean joke." And there's no point in investing in their interactions with anyone else because you know they'll never be mentioned again after that episode. I understand the dad starts playing a larger role later, though, and that's good.
But...what is it with this show and blondes? Jess basically had "I will die or get kidnapped by the end of this episode" tattooed across her forehead, and of the other 3 named blondes that had appeared(and there have only been 2 named brunettes...) 2 died within 2 minutes. Is it their version of a red shirt? *dies Meg from Veronica Mars's hair as a precaution)
I'm not quite as obsessively into it as others of my acquaintance(though, as I understand it, the obsessive love develops mid-season) but it seems to be money well spent so far. Actually, Jensen Ackles being a smartaleck justifies at least 50% of the cost...
