Cable Deadpool #31-32: Aww...Wade's never ending Christmas Buffet of heroes he gets paid to hunt down by the government isover cuz Cable took it away. I don't think they're on each other's Christmas lists anymore...aside from much humor and funness, that was the gist of these issues.
Captain America Vol 5 #21-22: "21st Century Blitz" wrapped up quite wonderfully and I'm looking forward to the WinterSoldier one shot. Though Winter Soldier being almost chipper and contented sounding is more than a little bit..uhm...concerning. Yeah, that's it... Civil War tie-in...sigh...like the House of M issue, it was well done but I really don't care. The fact that it was all about Sharon Carter didn't help. Not that I dislike Sharon, I like her well enough as a supporting character, but I don't find her nearly interesting enough that something where it being told from her perspective is what carries it is going to intrigue me.
Civil War Young Avengers & Runaways #2-3: Some funness, mostly relief that it's not bad, as was justifiably feareed(I get twitchy just thinking about Wells's New Warriors mini) The characters I find to be the most interesting seemed to be unconscious or off playing with anoying kids most of the time, or not doing much. That said, Noh-Varr seems suitably messed up enough to end up being a character I like...
Fables #53: Well that's an...interesting invasion plan. Lets just get that obedience spell off of Pinnocchio so he can go warn Fabletown already...This storyline is shaping up quite well, reminds me muchly the first Homelands story, which is one of the best Fables stories so far. Also nice to see the wolf clan isn't just being tucked away and forgotten, as was a concern.
Jack Of Fables #3: Shaping up to be as good as the regular series. Jack's never been one of my favorite Fables characters(though I've always been rather fond of him...he's a cretin, but a fun one, and loyal in his way) but he's always been one of the more interesting ones to me, and the series does a good job of emphasizing why.
Shadowpact #5: Still much funness, though I suspect people will now want to have words with the Enchantress. Maybe one of them invested in stocks that paid off well...normally I'd prattle more about this book, loving it as I do, but I read it directly after Fables and Jack of Fables, and as good as Willingham is here, it just doesn't compare to the wonderfulness of his other books.
Thunderbolts #106: A sad read, as Fabes is leaving. Part of me says it's for the best, as good as Tbolts stil is, it's not as good as it was. The other part is all to aware that he's one of the very, very few people who realizes that a very large part of what makes the book work is it's attention to continuity, and that as much as I like Warren Ellis, his attention to continuity is dictated by how how much the people paying his paycheck value it. Anyway...liking Speed Demon more and more(only natural, as it looks like he's going away) Zemo's ease with the Grandmaster was concerning at best, and many things go boom.

The ideas behind this series are also very interesting, as "power" for the Fables is traditionally defined by how much you're believed in(the only real exception to this is Frau Totenkinder, but she's rather unique) and this series is about taking that away by erasing the stories. That alone is pretty interesting, but here the possibilityis raised that, if the stories leave, so do the participants memories, if they're connected to other stories(as is evidenced by Jack encountering people from adventures he doesn't remember) Following that line of thought, so does the power. Now, for most of the Fables, who largely settled down after their one big adventure, it's all about how well knownthat one story(with variations) is. Then you have guys like Jack, Bigby, and Prince Charming, who did lots of roaming and are involved in lots of tales. Now, with Prince Charming, having a few wives and/or conquests taken away isn't going to affect him much(in fact, if it had any affect, it was probably for the best) But then there's Jack and Bigby. Jack is every Jack ever, and Bigby is not only every Big Bad Wolf ever, he's also the son of the North Wind, which is its own myth arc. Given how many tales there were already in, and how prolific Jacks, wolves and winds are in fables,, imagine if Jack of the Tales used to be Jack of a whole lot more tales, and the Big Bad Wolf used to get around a lot more...Bigby's already pretty much the world's biggest badass, no matter what world he happens to be on(Frau Totenkinder might challenge him for that status), and Jack's essentially already unkillable(and apparently has his fair share of abilities we haven't seen yet) but imagine what those two might be like ifthey really did lose power(and memories) when they lost stories they were involved in.
Another, off the wall, theory I have is that some of the fables at the camp are forgotten variations of existing Fables, turned human because what made them, well, THEM, was erased. By that theory, John is somehow Jack, and the three Page sisters are the three fates.
