I just finished a Korean period movie named Bichunmoo, pretty good(likely say more about it later) but I have decided that the need for overwrought that they have amuses me. Why?
Her: "My husband, whom my son loved very much, is dead, and my true love, my son's real father, has left and knows he's going to die...instead of taking care of my son so he won't be left all alone and lose 3 parents in one week, I shall go die beside my true love."
Him: "My true love's husband died to save my life, and my true love died taking an arrow for me...even though our son is ten feet away and crying, I shall shove the arrow sticking out of her back through my own body and die beside her."
Her brother: "My sister is dead, my brother in law is dead, and my sister's true love is clearly about to kill himself...instead of stopping him so he can take care of my cute nephew and not add to his trauma, I'll just cover my nephew's eyes then cuddle him when it's all over."
The kid: "WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone but my wonderful uncle is dead, and they all chose to die instead of take care of me. Well, my stepfather chose my real father's life over his because he knew who my mother really loved, and felt guilty about breaking them up before I was born, so that's not QUITE as bad, since he figured they'd pack me up and we'd all run off into the sunset, but man, am I gonna have issues when I grow up..."
