Avatar Season 1, eps 9-12

meganbmoore There is a plot. There truly is. And it's a good and interesting one. It just isn't what makes Avatar so awesome.
I admit, having 27 in shouting distance and the only major little one in my life not even being a year old yet, it can be a bit grating when the show gives us Important Messages and Moral Tales, but no more so than Gargoyles does now.
I shall now go to bed and wish I could share in Sokka's dreams.
*PIRATES!
*Zuko is amazingly highstrung, isnt he? Declaring mutiny for a change of course. I'm not sure if Iroh is a threat to his sanity, or the only thing maintaining it.
*Aang really should try to make learning waterbending look harder...just to make sure Katara doesn't kill him.
*You'd think Katara found a mountain of books jewels with her reaction to the waterbending scroll.
*Aang immitating a pirate! Pirates chasing them through the streets! Katara the thief!
*PIRATES!
*Uncle Iroh is a PACKRAT! I feel this causes Zuko much highstrung emo in its way.
*"I'll save you from the pirates!" Oh Zuko, stick to the emo antiheroing, the sinister/clever thing just isn't for you. Also? I fear your brain is no fair combatant for Sokka's.
*How on earth did Sokka NOT slit his wrists cutting his ropes, anyway?
*"He's a gigantic fluffy monster with an arrow on his head." And he FLIES! Sokka wins.
*I want to like Jet. I really really do. HE'S A GUERILLA REBEL WITH TWIN SWORDS! But he's so cocky and so "Im so cool" that I'm not sure...and he sees no problem with harassing and robbing the elderly...and sacrificing villages...Katara's crushing was quite fun, though....I'd probably like him more if there wasn't Zuko...and if Jet didn't have the "I'm cool" shorthand of something constantly dangling out of his mouth.
*Anytime Aang is the Adult in a Situation, you know things are bad.
*Momo is posibly the cutest and most adorable thing in the Avatar universe. Except Aang.
*Sokka's dreams rule. I want his dreams.
*Zuko's blood pressure would be much, much better if he just listened to Uncle Iroh and assumed he was always right.
*I feel they really shouldn't just go around announcing that Aang is the avatar. And old man shouldn't be mean to Aang. Only Katara, Sokka and Zuko are allowed to give him wonnly eyes for any reason. Or even making him sad. And even then, only a little.
*Facial scarring in ritual combat with your father because you objected to the sacrificing of dozens of troups? And then having said father exile you for "cowardice" because you didn't want to face him? Kinda hard to top. Well, unless you live inthe Basara or Saiyuki universes...
*I feel that it is a very good thing that my tendency to almost always latch onto characters with a tendency to disappear for stretches is something I'm well accustomed to. Otherwise, Zuko-less eps would make me very, very sad.
