Gundam Wing eps 41-45

meganbmoore I am trying this differently and doing it quasi as I go, instead of trying to regurgitate averything after finishing a chunk of episodes.
FOUR MORE EPISODES ANIME! YOU CAN DO IT! MAKE ME HAPPY!
Spoil me and get locked in a room with Dorothy and Relena.
These episodes start off VERY VERY POSITIVELY, with Treize taking over Romefeller and booting Relena out of office. Trieze gained many smart points. Then Treize said he was doing it because Relena couldn't do what needed to be done because she was too good and pure, so he was taking over to get things in motion for her because SHE WAS THE SOLE HOPE AND FUTURE LEADER OF MANKIND! Treize lost 50 times as many smart points as he gained. Relena takes off for space to confront Zechs. Dorothy cackles and follows her.
In space, Duo, Trowa, Quatre and Noin have an awesome bonding scene than go off to confront the bad guys and protect the colonies. Trowa is amazingly sane, logical and proactive during this...his conditioning has kicked back in, but the amnesia seems to be warding off the crazy. Actually, they all are(sane and logical here, that is.) It seems I was mistaken about Zechs...he did not declare himself ruler of the universe, just said that Earth had to be destroyed because all of the colonies' troubles. Or maybe he did both. Probably both. He confronts Noin and the pilots (who initially thought it was Heero, since Zechs has Epyon and Heero had it when Quatre left Earth.) He and Noin angst at each other a bit and Noin deeply regrets leaving him unsupervised half the series.
Note: Noin makes pilots saner.
Meanwhile, Sally tracked down Heavyarms and gave it to Heero so he could take it to Trowa. Heero was amazingly logical and reasonable throughout this, for Heero. Wu Fei was the same(for Wu Fei) when he was with Sally.

Wu Fei is still flying around space, blowing things up and yelling about eliminating stupid and evil people from space. He inspires an enemy to blow himself up to help Wu Fei blow things up. Maybe he was jealous of the Treize followers who blew themselves up for Treize, Heero must be very healous of all the successful suicide attempts. Heero and Sally find Wu Fei and ask him to join. Heero, due to prolonged exposure to Sally, seems rather sane. Wu Fei succumbed enough to Sally to be polite, but rejects. Heero loans him the crazy making gundam. *face palm*
It has the usual results. Including screaming in space. Heero looks on as someone is crazier than him for once. Then the crazy making gundam makes Wu Fei realize he should join the other pilots already. Wu Fei seems saner. Maybe he was so insane that the two cancelled each other out. Sally is happy her favorite pilot seems half sane.
Zechs is still making crazy speeches. Zechs needs to be locked up with Noin and Sally for a while. Dorothy shows up and reminds him of their chuildhood. Zechs says to blow her up and she starts babbling about another person with two names. Despite her clear manipulative insanity, Zechs lets her join him. Very bad move.
Relena is floating around space, prattling about how only she can stop Zechs during this, btw.
Sally and her boys join up with Noin and hers. I have sanity hopes. Duo has forgotten Heero's tendency to make him psycho. Poor Duo. Trowa seems to recognize Heavyarms. YAY! Wu Fei angsts at Trowa that Trowa isn't good enough to fight anymore and should stay out of it. Trowa agrees. Wu Fei needs to shut up.
Oz takes a colony hostage against Zechs. Dorothy cackles that it will be a noble sacrifice. Zechs agrees with her.
Note: Dorothy makes them even crazier than Relena does.
Trowa sees Catherine on the colony. OH NOES! TROWA STEALS THE CRAZY MAKING GUNDAM TO GO SAVE HER! Everyone but Wu Fei rushes after him. Nataku has a boo-boo, so Wu Fei can't go. Not that he minds. Heero stays behind too. He calmly talks about how the crazy making gundam can handle it. It's Trowa's turn for the screaming and heavy breathing and trying to blow up colonies...BUT QUATRE REASONS WITH HIM! HE GETS THROUGH TO HIM! TROWA GETS HIS MEMORIES BACK! YAY! *rewatches*
Duo has very sensibly snuck down to the colony during all this and confronts grunts. Relena shows up to reason with Zechs *...* and Dorothy cackles it's too late. Relena even invokes God's name. Everyone gets back to the ship and Wu Fei says they wasted their time. Zech's blows up a chunk of Earth. Heero and Wu Fei are amazingly calm. I think prolonged exposure to Sally and Noin is working too well on them.
Zechs: "The most annoying and fearsome enemy in the universe. The Gundams." In a villainous and suppressed crazy voice. I giggled.
I truly feel for Noin. For some reason, she's floating around space wearing a cowboy suit. This is on top of her boyfriend wanting to blow the planet up. I think half her angst is because she knows it wouldn't be this bad if she hadn't left him unsupervised for over 20 episodes.
Zechs is in a room with both Relena and Dorothy. I feel 50 new levels of crazy are headed his way. Relena babbles something about the kind brother she once knew. This is further proof of faulty programming, as I'm sure the only memory she has of ever actually meeting Zechs in person is when he and Heero were trying to kill each other.
Noin bemoans their lack of discipline in battle. They needed to be stuck with her, all together, about 20 episodes earlier. Instead of wandering around space and making me follow 5 or more plotlines at a time.
Heero dumped everyone else. Probably plans to go save Relena or something. Sadly. Dorothy cackles at Relena and locks her in her room. I giggle again.
Heero is looking at random discs in the hangar bay. Zero whines about not getting to fight. Heero apologizes. I don't make this stuff up. Heero asks Howard to install the Zero system in Quatre's gundam. Quatre almost has a breakdown. You know, because last time, he blew up colonies and tried to kill his friend. Heero insists. I slap Heero. Quatre gives in. I fret over another breakdown.
Zechs and Heero fight. Again. Zechs is fighting to end all fighting. The whole "putting Quatre in charge" thing isn't working well. That Dorothy is manipulating the mobile dolls so isn't helping any. Noin notices the strategy is identical to the attack on the Sanc kingdom. Quatre comes up with a plan. Duo scratches his nose. Quatre and Dorothy recognize each other's strategies. I get how Quatre did, but not Dorothy.
Dorothy tries to blow everything up. Zechs frets he gave her too much responsibility and dumps Heero. I love that I don't have to make any of this up.
Quatre applies his sanity and tells Heero his not using the crazy making system anymore. Heero angt over it. Duo tells him to chill out. Heero agrees. Duo is shocked into silence. It's probably why he did it. Howard very sensibly yells at them for repairing their gundams and not letting the mechanics work on them Sally and Noin sensibly fret over the boys' sanity.
Hilde remembers that all the female characters but Relena are supposed to be awesome, quits waiting around for Duo to come home, and goes undercover. Relena is meekly following along in Dorothy's wake I am weirded out. Hilde steals info from Zechs computer. I am proud.
We finally check in with the crazy scientists and learn they've programmed mobile dolls to be like Heero and Trowa. *sigh* Relena displays her faith in Heero. Not that I know where it comes from. Dorothy is not impressed. Hilde is eavesdropping and is. Relena and Hilde bond while talking about how Hilde is a far superior love interest. (No really, they talk about how Hilde is actually being useful and trying to help her pilot.) Hilde offers to take Relena with her, but Relena is determined to remain a damsel in distres. I shout "RUN HILDE RUN!" Hilde listens to me.
After Wu Fei pwns Trowa and Duo at chess and angsts about strength and weakness, Duo and Quatre exchange an awesome "what an idiot" look over Heero's determination to brood in solitude. I applaud. Trowa is wearing his super intense look full time again. I'm unsure about this, but mostly relieved.
The Trowa Doll and Heero doll are sent after Hilde. Duo hears Hilde's distress call and zips off. I maybe bounce a bit. Somehow, Hilde gets shot inside her gundam or something. Duo shows up to save her and sees Heero and Trowa in the dolls. He "WTF?"-s a bit and gets to work. He blows them up for messing with his girlie and thinking they were as good as his buddies. *insert standard shonen "you idiot, why'd you risk your life?" scene *insert Megan rewatching it*
Ah, Heero didn't know Relena was with Zechs. That's why there has been no stupid rescue attempt yet.
